is 3.1.2 worth it ?

are there any advantages / disadvantages from going from 3.0.1 to 3.1.2 ?
im perfectly happy with 3.0.1 and have had no issues what so ever.
so im asking myself should i run the risk on making it rain then possibly causing myself problems
what does 3.1.2 do that 3.0.1 doesnt ?
also
i think ultrasnow was used to jb/unlock my phone, am i still able to use blackrain ?

Ultrasnow is what you used to unlock your 4.xxxx modem firmware. You will use blacksnow to unluck the 5.xxxxx modem firmware that upgrading to 3.1.2 will put on your phone. Blackrain will jb for you.

Unless you use a custom fimware that is Shift+Restore in iTunes.

i upgraded because of mms in txt messages. there is a camera button on the txt msg window now. click it to use existing or take new pic and send in txt. you can also receive pics in txt. also, seems speedier to me.

I am still on 3.0.1 also. I have been waiting to see if the next version of pwnage tool fixes the carrier logo issue.

If you want MMS on 3.0.1 all you need is a custom ipcc file. Mine allows MMS and tethering.

Don't really think there's any advantages as such, to 3.1.2, but there's certain apps in the app store that require 3.1+ but if you don't need any of those, there's in my opinion no reason to go to 3.1.2

If you have any interest in 'augmented reality' apps you'll need 3.1x.

I'm on 3.0. Plenty of bugs not fixed in 3.1.2.

Still I am going to upgrade now that there is a JB and unlock (though I dont need the unlock)
