Used Pwnage to crack 2g- still requires activation
i have and old 2g iPhone that i want to give to my daughter without phone activation. i used the pwnage tool to unlock. When i restore with new ipsw with itunes with no activation checked ...itunes still asks for activation. what am i doing wrong..... other than using an iphone as an itouch.

umm....make a an ipsw with activation enabled in the settings.

Trust me .... i am new to this world but..... the Pwnage tool will build a new file (an ipsw file) that will be used to restore your iPhone. after the file is created, use itunes to restore your iPhone with that file.

howcome for 2g you didn't use balckra1n as per one of the mods (here onsite) recs I saw ?
does the pwnage tool give better results or less likely to brick it ?
... trust me I am newer here than you !

the Pwnage tool was the first i tried and it worked. make sure you download the correct ipsw file from this site so that you can create your restore file and it works fine
