iphone 2g 8gb please help!!

i have the first iphone with the software version 2.2 that's what comes out on itunes.

i need to get the latest firmware but it must stay unlocked because i am not using at&t as my phone carrier

i have red a bit and have seen a few options pwnage 3.1.2 and 3.1.4

i should install the 3.1.4 right?


it is jailbroken right now. i just want to upgrade so i can use some aplications from the app store that require the latest version.


and just in case i have a mac. ive seen that pwnage 3.1.4 is not available for windows.

but sins i have a mac tell me whats better.

You won't lose your unlock as the baseband version doesn't change on the 2G. Easiest thing to do is build a custom 3.1.2 firmware with pwnage tool and restore to that. This will bring you up to date and jailbreak at the same time in one step.
