Legally unlock a jail broken iphone.
Hi all,
So former O2-UK costumer I moved my Iphone to Vodafone-UK months ago.
I must say if you are asking about the network quality, Vodafone in me opinion is much better.
Any way my, phone is 3GS 3.1.2 with B1acksn0w both Jailbreak and unlocked. At this point I am waiting for my unlock to go through. I understand thet O2 basically send’s my iphone IMEI and then via the ITunes my phone will get unlocked.
My Question is what will happen in my case with a jailbroken unlocked phone ? Will I have to restore it clean first ? Or will the unlock will work anyway?
Sure it is already unlooked, but I went it to be legally unlocked without the Jailbreak....
Anyone with experiencein the subject ?
Thanks.

I know if you have a legally unlocked iPhone, you need to activate it first through iTunes and then Jailbreak using BlackRa1n RC3. BlackRa1n will recognize that your iPhone is already activated so it won't hacktivate it. So, the answer to your question is yes you will need to restore a clean stock 3.1.2 firmware, activate it thru iTunes and then jailbreak it using Blackra1n. You can install Cydia and Rock, but don't install Sn0w.
FYI: Unfortunately, you can not take a shortcut and just uninstall sn0w because blackra1n has already hacktivated your firmware. You need to restore clean.
