downgrade 2G Jailbroken phone from 3.0 to 1.1.2

I have a 2g iphone that is jailbroken and unlocked on 3.0 with Redsnow. I've found out that 3.0 jailbreak on old iphones doesn't work with my carrier and they told me to downgrade back to 1.1.2....(my carrier is telus)

I entered the dfu mode thing (held power button and home button then released power) and then i shift clicked restore in tunes to restore to the 1.1.2 firmware i downloaded....trouble is, i get an error saying it can't restore, error 1601. then it stays stuck in that mode. I can get it to restore back to 3.0 so its not broken.

Can anyone help me downgrade back to 1.1.2?

iphone 2g will not work with telus period. telus is ONLY 3G GSM
