Searching... No Service after blacksn0w

could it be the new itunes? i recently had an update pop up and i installed it not even thinking about it and now here i am with the no service problem.


edit: found out my problem. im an idiot.... forgot to install blacksn0w after installing blackra1n. DUH. But now i dont get wifi. wtf...

I did it same thing today one hour ago, i leave the phone on, pulled sim card out, put it back, signal come back, try..

Try and reset the network settings and wifi should work. It won't screw up the unlock but should clear up the wifi issues.

3G was jailbroken and unlocked on 2.2.1

Used itunes to upgrade to 3.1.2 > Blackra1n > Blacksn0w.. (via the no wifi, instal.bat method) worked perfectly..... for weeks, this phone had never been more reliable....

...hard to pinpoint the exact moment but after sending a couple of mms messages for the first time ever, phone entered re-boot and never finished....

so now I can get the phone to enter re-boot, but again will not finish.. and I can enter DFU mode, and I can restore.... (jailbreak appears to be retained), I can now re-boot no problem, Cydia works no problem. however as soon as I apply Blacksn0w via Cydia or Instal.bat I get the perpetual searching message, and once again a re-boot never finishes....

I'll keep experimenting with different stuff...

twofish - I have spent 4 weeks trying to resolve exactly the same problem. I hate my iPhone now.

Can anyone get blacksn0w to work without the phone crashing on reboot?

Hello everyone I am also having issues.

I have had my 16gb 3GS 3.1.2 for quite a while jailbroken with no Sn0w. The other day I was messing with stuff and downloaded it. Now my phone is having all the issues I’ve not wanted by not installing the Blacksn0w. I figured no big deal I’ll just restore it with itunes and jailbreak again and be good to go. NOPE! I go to itunes and shift+click on restore and it tells me that I am ineligible to do this build. Now again I am still on 3.1.2 and all I want to do is restore to “factory settings” and then be able to jailbreak again without the blacksn0w.

My question how can I restore to factory settings erasing all memories of the current settings and jailbroken downloads and start fresh again??? Please help, the in and out of reception is killing me right now.

i have had reception issues anytime i have ever installed blacksn0w with the phone going into No Service periodically thoughtout the day. When I only jailbreak an iphone with blackra1n i do not have the issue....its only after installing blacksn0w.

i know blackra1n and blacksnow are both know to cause issues for some people in regards to reception, wifi not working, etc.... its kind of buggy sometimes

It can be an antenna issue meaning the antenna on your motherboard if these iphone you guys are getting no signal with have never been opened up and had the motherboard pulled out then it might be the sim card if the sim card works on other iphones and doesnt work on that one try reinstalling the firmware (download the firmware from this site 3.1.2). If that doesnt work go to setting reset all network settings the iphone will restart automatically after the restart do a hard reset hold down the power and the home button at the same time until it shuts off then press the power button to start up the iphone....If that doesnt work......buy a new iphone

That happened to me to I do have tmobile and did have the original sim card for AT&T and it didn't work

didn't work for me, i still got 'no service' but it did let me make one call before it went to no service.
