Blackrain problem (Haven't found any solutions on this forum yet)

Hey guys, I recently updated my firmware to 3.1.2 for my 3g iphone and attempted to jailbreak it with blackrain. However, after the jailbreaking process, it's stuck on "No sim card installed." I restored and attempted to jailbreak it 4 times and it failed.

I have...

-ran the program under windows service pack 3 (under compatibility)
-ran the program as an administrator
-ended all the itunes related processes in task manager
-put the file in local C: and tried to run it from there (was told to do this in other tutorials if blackrain failed to work)

I was in the same situation are now a couple of days ago until I called upon a friend with AT&T to come visit me with his sim card. I put his sim in the phone, connect to itune and activated this way. After that, I did Blackra1n and completed the process installing cydia.........now waiting for the unlock the come on the 4th.
