No phone service and other issues after JB
Hey all!
Jail broke my 16G which was still on 2.2.1 (I know, I know
) I jumped right up to 3.1.2 using Pwnage tool. Seemed to work with out a flaw, so I thought.
So now I have now phone service, no bluetooth, wi fi is very weak, the whole phone is very, very slow to open apps, and move the to another page of apps.
I used hack this phones tutorials as I have in the past.
I installed ultra snow with no luck, I did not remove the sim card, but follow the rest of the tutorial to the letter. Reset the network with no luck.
What I am wondering is, this phone is still on Modem Firmware 02.28.00. Could this be the problem?
I also checked activate a new phone in itunes, then synch everything box.
I set the partition to around 750 in Pwnage tool as before.
I'm not in a panic yet!
I'll JB again and see what happens while waiting for the experts to help me!
Thanks all.
Update:
I got the phone working again. I did a full restore via itunes to 3.1.2 and update to the firmware. Will I be able to re jailbreak the phone now?Last edited by ppfd; 10-27-2009 at 04:53 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

This was your problem. You needed to restore a stock 3.0 firmware, so it updated your baseband (modem firmware) to 04.26.08. From here, you should have jailbroke using Redsn0w. Once your iPhone 3G was jailbroken again, you could have restored your custom 3.1.2 firmware using iTunes by pressing Shift+Restore (Windows) or Option+Restore (Mac OSX)
You will be able to jailbreak, but since it updated your baseband to 05.11.07, you lost your ability to unlock and use unofficial carriers like T-Mobile.Update:

You may be able to downgrade your baseband back to 04.26.08 using a program called "Fuzzy Band" in Cydia. In order for "Fuzzy Band" to work, your iPhone 3G's bootloader must be 5.08. This is about your only option if you need an unlock solution. There are some topic threads on "Fuzzy Band" in MMI, I would suggest reading through all the posts.Last edited by reddawg; 10-27-2009 at 08:18 PM.

Thanks for the help

Not to worried about an unlock, just the jail break. Using Pwange tool again should be ok?

Jail broke again without any problems. Tried fuzzyband and an unlock is a no go. Not a big issue for me though. Thanks again!
