iPhone 3.1.2 J/B Push Notifications Broken!
Hi
Im looking for other 3GS users who are on 3.1.2 jailbroken and unlocked baseband 04.26.08 using pwntool 3.1.4 (NOT BLACKRA1N), my push notifications are broken, ive tried a few things, like push fix, rejailbreaking, toggling on off 3G and nothing has worked. push fix gave me a notification to sync with itunes to enable push but that didnt work. Does anyone have a solution to this matter? I dont need the unlock for my service provider, im on rogers in canada with a rogers iphone, i want to keep my unlock incase i ever decide to sell, i also have my 3.0 ecdi shsh on file. The only thing i can think of trying is rebuilding a new ispw without the unlock, but will i be able to unlock later on?

Check this out. They are talking about using an AT&T sim to make iTunes happy, but it's the same concept as what you are after.
any app that uses push will not work after JB

Can I ask if this Push Fix from cydia.iphoneil.com has the same problem of having NON-unique-ID ?
People commented a few months back that they are receiving Push Notifications from other users as the PushFix uses a duplicated ID that Apple uses to send the notifications.
(im in almost the same situation as lodgechad except im using 3G and have NOT decided to upgrade to 3.1.2)

I have j/b unlocked 3gs with 3.1.2 bb 5.11 and push is not working. I'm an at&t customer and yahoo push sometimes works when I reset newtwork settings but they stops working. I've tried pushfix but it doesn't work for me. Does anyone know what else I could try?

That repo throws back lots of errors when adding it. Can push fix be trusted?!

Whats ******* sad & stupid, is that still to this day, there's no real fix from the Dev Team! That actually works perfectly from the get go of jailbreaking your iPhone from the Dev Team software.
Unlike this piece of **** fix, where people have to scramble to know the repo + be lucky to work, yet receive ****** up messages from random people OR ruin your jailbroken/unlocked iPhone.
THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ALREADY its been forever since this **** has been released, this so called 'push fix' & its ********!
I only complain because I've been waiting, I've attempted several times, different iPhone's as well, and they've all come to fail in the long run & equal into a re-jailbreak!
The Dev Team have been under low radars & out of sight for awhile, news & requests for **** need to stur up again. Especially if there's news of newer ******* firmwares appearing. No offense Dev Team, i love you guys, but come on! Roll with the fixes & updates, please!

Yea and it's not a good thing to diss the dev team when they have done a lot for this comm. They are working on most of this stuff cause they want to not cause they have to.

Downloaded PushFix.
It definitely stopped the "Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications" pop up and youtube currently works fine.
Although, there was this one time that I received a push notification from facebook. It was someone I don't even know/have on my friends list.

i found a good fix. add repo http://cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt and get pushdoctor. i found this within a thread to jailbreak to 3.1.3
this successfully fixed push notifications on my activated jailbroken iphone 3g.
i think it was either pushfix 1.0 or sbsettings notification tab that screwed up my push notifications to begin with since i wasnt hacktivated.
restoring to my original 3.1.2 didnt work, was about to upgrade to 3.1.3 but this fix worked for me.
was this close to upgrading to 3.1.3 phewLast edited by cattlecruiser; 03-05-2010 at 01:09 PM. Reason: adding pertinent info

That fix says it's only for activated phones. How do I know if my phone is activated, hacktivated, or ?
Everything was working fine on my phone until it was lost in a cab, who gave it to his kids and they did a restore and upgrade to it. Luckily I tracked it and got it back. I was able to downgrade back to 3.1.2 and re-jb it, but now I keep gettg the connect to iTunes to use push notifications.
Edit: Nevermind about how do I know, my phone must be activated as I can call, receive calls, text, etc with it, but ever since I downgraded from 3.1.3 back to 3.1.2, my push doesn't work. Maybe I installed push fix before, maybe not. I can't remember, but I sure would like it fixed again.
Edit2: Nevermind about me, I figured out my Push was just turned off because of an app I have installed that silences my phone while I'm at work to avoid it going off during meetings or anything. The app actually turns Push off as well during the times I set it to, and when I was getting that message, I googled and saw so many others having it, that I didn't even think of the app until today when I got home and stopped getting the connect to iTunes message.Last edited by Crafty42; 03-23-2010 at 08:48 PM.
