Question iPhone 3G 3.1.2 and ECID SHSH

This is my first post to the forums. I used the search but didn't find a real answer to my question.

My friend has a iPhone 3G from Hong Kong which is factory unlocked (not hacktivated) on 3.1.2 and jailbreaked it with backra1n 1.0 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.1.

Now he asked me if there was a way to still get a valid ECID and SHSH for his device and upload it to the Cydia server. I was a little confused because I own an iPhone 3GS and already uploaded my ECID and SHSH to Cydia while being on FW 3.0.1 I think.

Can you guys help me? Is there a way to still get this data for his device?

    Thanks!

He doesn't need that for a 3G. The ECID SHSH is for 3G[S] & iPod Touch 3G

Oh I get it. So is this also the reason why Cydia doesn't offer him any kind of backup to their server? Do they just offer that option to iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G after detecting the device?

    Thank you mate!

Log into Cydia and click 'Make my life easier'.

Alternatively, use umbrella to get it yourself.
