Default 3.0.1 restore without going to 3.1.2 or 3.0.0

    I have a jailbroken 3GS running 3.0.1 done via redsn0w.
I also have the file 3.0_7A341_restore (300mb file) that I used when running redsn0w.

I would like to restore my phone, but I don't want it to auto-update to 3.1.2 or down to 3.0.0

I don't care if I loose any apps during the restore. I just want to get my phone back to new, with just the jailbrake in 3.0.1 (not 3.1.2 or 3.0.0)

    I'm running Itunes 8.2.1.6

If I use the following procedure, is this ok...?
-hold power and home until phone shuts off
-hold home, plug in usb cable to computer
-itunes detects phone in recovery mode
-click restore, then restore and update.

When the phone is restored, re-jail brake the same way I did before.

Is this the correct way to do it?

Will my phone be on 3.0 or 3.0.1 when its restored?

    Thanks!

Restore and update. Key word is Update. You will be at the latest firmware version (3.1.2) when it gets done. 3.1.2 is jailbreakable though.

Read this and see if it applies to you. Caching Apple's Signature Server - Jay Freeman (saurik)

Even if it does apply to you, you would most likely *not* be able to get 3.0.1 anyway.
