Cydia apps compatible with 3.1.2

Hello people,

Feeling good about Geohot's latest accomplishment but I'm wondering about a couple of things. 1st things 1st, I'm running a JB'd 3.0.1 iPhone 3GS. JB using Redsnow on win XP. I've got a LOT of Cydia apps installed on my phone (including a psx that runs great!) and I love them. While I'm sure Geohot's JB will work if I upgrade to 3.1.2, I'm wondering about Cydia apps I have still working on 3.1.2. Has anyone tried to install any of their old cydia apps on 3.1.2 and had a problem? I want to reproduce what I have now on my phone if possible. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am curious about this too. I just used downgraded back to 3.0 and jailbroke using purplera1n since I had never used it before, and I just wanted to see how it worked. I read on iClarified's purplera1n tutorial that Winterboard wouldn't work. I am wondering if Winterboard will work on a blackra1n jailbreak,

Ya Winterboard killed my 3GS on 3.1.2. I had to restore to get my phone working again.

I have a 3Gs on 3.0 that was jailbroken with purplera1n and Winterboard works fine. I think WB was not compatible for only a short time, it was fixed pretty quickly if I'm not mistaken. I expect it will be fixed eventually for blackra1n and/or 3.1.2.

Ya this was the main reason I did the JB, and the USB option worked for me as well on 3.1.2. Yippee! WiFi was no joy though, but that could have been a problem with my laptop or W7.

i have 3gs on 3.1.2 and i found that most of my cydia apps i had on 3.0 dont work now so i guess i have to wait for everyone to play catch up to geohot's jailbreak.

winterboard works, i had to restore twice for it to work correctly. so if it doesn't work, just keep trying. can anyone confirm if supreme settings works?

I can also confirm winterboard working on 3gs 3.1.2. Categories however doesn't seem to be working.

I'm glad I asked before updating. Too many Cydia apps seem to need updating before they'll work on 3.1.2. I'm waiting before updating. 3.0.1 is treating me just fine with my JB and ALL Cydia apps running. I downloaded blackra1n. I'll wait before using it though. Any other Cydia apps working / not working on 3.1.2?

How come some of you have no issues with winterboard on 3gs? For me it just does nothing. Maybe I'll try making it ra1n again...

Winterboard, five dock icon, and reflective dock all work for me. I think the people having issues where they need to restore the fault lies more with mobile substrate. What I did was first install five dock icon (which installs mobile substrate), respringing takes forever so I hard rebooted. After phone restarts I installed winterboard and instead of pressing the reboot now in cydia I pressed home button first and turned the phone off and on myself. Everything working.

^^^ thanks! i installed five icon dock and then installed winterboard and then instead of clicking reboot, I clicked homescreen then shut down and then power up again.

AppBackup wasn't working for me. I had the same problem when I first went to 3.1, but saurik released an update to MobileSubstrate to fix issues with Cyntact, and somehow it magically made AppBackup work. I am still having no luck with AppBackup this time around though after I went back to 3.1. I wonder if I would have went all the way back to 3.0 then up to 3.1 if I would have had any better luck.
