    Default new iphone 3g help

    Hi,

I have got new iphone 3g (not activated) from uk and i live in uae (i dont have a uk sim card to activate). i am getting error message invalid sim card.

I am trying to jailbreak so i can use it. I dont know which version it is? because itunes just shows me invalid sim card. iPHONE configuration utility software says it is on version 3.1.

when i use redsnow to select 3.1 firmware, it does not recognize it. when i select 3.0 firmware it recognizes it. (even if i dont plug my iphone and select 3.0 firmware it says it is k)

and would like to know once i jailbreak it can i unlock it?

i just want it to be unlocked.

    help?

your gonna have to downgrade to 3.0, then jailbreak.

I hope you weren't intending on unlocking this phone...

    yes u need to jailbreak
You'll have to research on how to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0

But you CANT unlock this phone, any phone that was ever on 3.1, is SOL at the moment.
