yay for getting out of recovery mode and not updating to 3.1
Hello, I'm somewhat of a n00b to iphone modding. However, I've been playing around with it. I'm currently on 3.0.1, I got stuck in recovery mode while doing a restore - got the encouter "unknown error (3002)" (thought i was in the "on file" sys, due to my n00biness...i wasnt). I thought i was going to need to update to 3.1 at that point. To get out of recovery mode I tried a few things, but one that was successful was using quickpwn 2.2.5-2.
All I did was "hold pwr/home" for 15 sec and then just home for 2... or untill quickpwn recognized my iphone... as soon as it recognized it, my iphone booted into normal mode.. yay for not updating to 3.1
step-by-step (roughly)
ver: 2.2.5-2
all i did was:
get into recoverymode (itunes/usb logo)
plug in with usb
start up quickpwn
follow onscreen directions (get into DFU mode - hold pwr/home for 15 sec and then just home for 2)
quickpwn was able to bounce the phone and run in normal...
Hope that made sence to someone on here... =]Last edited by PeebaThC; 09-16-2009 at 01:28 PM.

Lol you basically just jailbroke it. Having it in DFU mode is perfect for pushing it into the jailbreak process. Nice job, but old news =P Thanks for the tip though.

not old news at all. there was no jailbreak applied. this is actually good news for those having the issue of downgrading because most commonly itunes recognized a different baseband and fails the restore keeping the phone in recovery mode. quickpwn boots the phone out of recovery mode and forces to boot with "what its got" you then apply the jailbreak using redsn0w
so thanks for the tip. you may want to tag your error numbers though so other people can search
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I'm in the loop as well...

Anbody that can point me to a working DL location of the quickpwn 2.2.5-2?
The versions I have DL, all give me an error..:
QuickPwn.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Still in the loop, get me out of it...
