My phone overheated and then KAPUT!

I was driving today using my 3GS GPS and I know it gets hot in this mode. Well, all of a sudden my phone crapped out on me and said I needed to do a restore.

I tried everything to get it working before I got home, only emergency number screen and info that I needed to do a restore...

I have this jailbroken with RedsnOw .72 and firmware 3.0

So... Got home, I then plugged it into iTunes, and it wanted to restore off the new firmware. NOPE

I then tried to re-install with Redsn0w .80 and got my phone back up. BUT, no phone carrier or WiFi.

What do I have to do??? I don't have to upgrade to firmware 3.1 do I?
