What do I do if Cydia freezes/loops on me?

I tried to install a new package and when it got to the screen (black on with the details of the install) that instructs you to Reload Springboard, it seems to be stuck in a loop. I can't get back to the home screen or even turn the phone off. I'm on FW 3.0 on a 3GS. Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

try a hard reboot by holding the power and home buttons and see if it will reboot that way.

I just tried that too, nothing happened. I even tried to synch my phone with itunes again to see if it would get me out of the loop, but that didn't do anything either.

Only 2 options then. You can just let the battery run dead and see if will reboot when you recharge it or DFU mode and restore.

Thanks for the advice, I'll let the battery run out tonight and see if that works. Appreicate the help!
