update to 3.0 from 1.1.4

appreciate any help in how to update to 3.0 from 1.1.4.
Using 2g jailbroken and unlocked.

connect your phone to itunes
Let it update to the latest firmware (3.0.1)
while your phone is updating, get online and download a copy of the 3.0 .ipsw for the 2g (be sure not to use safari)
let itunes do its thing for a little while, once its done, you should be at the activation screen on your phone (connect to itunes)
Download redsnow, run it, point it at the 3.0 ispw you downloaded earlier, follow whatever it says to do, let it do its thing, enjoy.

Actually the tutorials are the same quoted from the redsn0w app although is does supply a video in some cases.
