How to upgrade 1st Gen iphone

Hello!

I got someone to jailbreak my iphone because I could not use it in China. Anyways, I currently have the 1st generation iphone and I have 1.14(4A102) firmware on it. Right now I want to upgrade my firmware where I can accomplish more things on my iphone. Thanks!

Follow this link and it will have everything you need to jailbreak and unlock if you desire.
Update iTunes to 8.2 and then restore your phone to 3.0.
Then follow the guide and your good to go my friend.

So once I update I will lose everything on my iphone? Is there a way to back it up? Also, how do you get applications such as games onto the iphone? I know you can download it from Installer/Cydia.

Sync your phone with iTunes. Then when your done with the jailbreak you can sync again and it will all be there when your done.
You will lose all 3rd party apps that you may have so if you have any make a list so you can reinstall them.

So I have to jailbreak it and re-sync it with itunes and all my contacts/sms/etc will all be there?

Oh right, I forgot to ask when using Pwnagetool, it will simultaneously unlock and jailbreak the phone at the same time?
