Actually is looks like from what I was reading it doesnt make a difference since everything is pending an update to Mobile Substrate from Saurik (See posts from StealthBravo). This sucks, since i was in the middle of a restore when i read it.

I hope so, but like I said - I doubt it. A new version of mobile substrate was just released earlier today by saurik (which supports thumb2)- and it didn't help. Check out crashX's twitter, he even says he wont be able to 'fix' voipover3g until he gets a 3gs.

several comments on the dev team blog state voipover3g, nor tricker3g work with redsn0w. The problem is with voipover3g and tricker3g themselves. Looks like we all need more patience.

Indeed we do. The latest mobile substrate update from Saurik had thumbs2 support which was required, so it was beck to the DEV's for these apps to fix our issue. Take a look at the twitter of CrashX (Developer of Voipover3g). Worst news all day......
"I am planning on working on VoIPOver3G as soon as I get my 3GS @maartenlameris"
So...until he gets a 3GS we are SOL.

i just tried it with the new updated mobilesubstrate. still doesn't work. gonna follow crashx's twitter to see when he'll update it
i don't think it makes a difference for the 2 jb methods. this problem isn't because of purplera1n. so a new jb won't fix it. i'm just gonna wait for crashx to update his softwareLast edited by ihaveabu; 07-07-2009 at 08:35 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Guys, no point in donating - crashx intends to put it in the cydia store and start charging for it. I just hope the price is reasonable, else i can live without it.

Thanks for understanding my post, unlike that last jackass...
Yes I was blaming ATT for forcing an app to be neutered for one device but not another! Not sure if its just me, but Tricker3G doesn't even show up on Cydia for me anymore, not sure why...anyways it appears that Crash X is working on a solution so hopefully not much longer to wait for VoipOver3G.
FYI his google code page can be found here:

For those of you following this thread.. CrashX posted this about his VoipOver3g app and 3g Urestrictor app:
@sanjuvarma basically I am done with everything now. I am going to submit to bigboss and saurik now.

I love my iPhone but i hate the AppStore for its limitations to apps because of AT&T, when i can use Sling or Skype without a hitch on any other AT&T smartphone.
