Preparing for jailbreak and OS upgrade

So i have a 2.2.1 jailbroken iphone 3g, what should I backup before i upgrade everything and what would be the best way for me to do this.

Just do a normal back up in iTunes. But make sure you have nothing within Categories, no hidden apps, poofed, and you will be fine.

When you get ready to do the upgrade make sure you set the phone up as a"NEW" phone, not restore from backup, this may cause some problems. When completed you can sync to a backup and get all your contacts music and stuff.
