is there a way to ssh the ultrasnow to iphone 3g?
hi! a friend of mine had his wifi broken. he's on yellowsnow currently when it got broken. he wanted to upgrade to 3.0 but having problem on how to unlock without wifi. since its a foreign fone, 3g or edge is not possible. i was wondering, is there a way to place the ultrasnow on a 3g running on 3.0 using a pc?

Just borrow someones sim and use it to download ultrasnow off Cydia. Then reboot the phone with the desired sim in.

I think Rebel has a turbo sim out for 3.0. I'm not sure if it's real or not because I saw it on eBay but the youtube demo is showing that it is running on 2.2.1/2.30. But looks like there is no way to unlock the iPhone without wifi since you can't access Cydia. So I was thinking you could try and buy the turbo sim and if it works, just access Cydia then when the phone is unlocked with the turbo sim and install ultrasn0w. I don't like relying on turbo sims for unlocking, they're unreliable and gives crappy reception a lot of the time. I mean I don't really see any other option without wifi so I guess if you're willing to spend a few dollars on the turbo sim and try... otherwise I think you're out of luck.

I had the problem till i found this. All you have to do is connect your iphone to your computer and hit the bat file.
RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
turn off 3g and then restart. works nicely

I dont understand why you cant just borrow an active sim from one of the millions of people in this world.... Just download ultrasn0w and you can use your own sim. Please dont try to convince me that there is no edge of any kind where you live.

here's the case, mr. borrow man... the fone came from another country and using simcard which is not available here in the phillipines. i dont know much people here who uses vodafone since our service provider is only globe, smart, and sun. are you suggesting that i should look for a foreigner who's using vodafone provider? WTF?! and what is the ratio of doing that? and yes, there is an gprs/edge/3G access here. how about you? do you have a vodafone sim?

great! thanks a lot! will give it a try later this afternoon.Last edited by Pinoynoob; 06-29-2009 at 06:36 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

You can always download the latest version of ultrasn0w directly from its source.
http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ultrasn0w.deb- Connect to your iPhone using WinSCP or SSH client.
- Copy ultrasn0w.deb to /private/var/root.
- From WinSCP, click on Commands -> Open Terminal and enter
dpkg -i /private/var/root/ultrasn0w.deb
and press ENTER.
