I do wish they'd change the name though.
Having a folder on my desktop called "Quickpwn" & "Pwnage Tool" has raised a few eyebrows in the past. I then have to explain that these refer to my iPhone - the one called "Smut" is obviously a different matter though!

ok try this this is how I downgraded from 3.0 - 2.2.1
1. Uninstall iTunes 8.2
2. Install iTunes 8.1.1
3. shift restore your iphone using official 2.2.1 firmware
4. you will get an error and your phone will get the connect to iTunes screen
5. Hold down power and home button for exactly 15 seconds
6. then hold down power for exactly 2 second.
7. Select a new phone in iTunes.
8. Done back to 2.2.1

What SIM card are you using?

Try downgrading to Beta 5 first before 2.2.1 ... do it this way...
Jailbreak your OS 3.0 GM using the QuickPwn 3.0 Beta 5 + OS 3.0 Beta 5 (7a312G) .. it will put your iPhone into DFU Mode (Pink Color) and just ignore the DFU Mode ... from DFU mode ... Restore your OS Beta 5 by pressing Shift + Restore then search for the IPSW (7a312G) ... dont worry you will have the Beta 5 ... after having the Beta 5 then you can decide if you want to go back to OS 2.2.1 ... keep posting if it works ... as it works with me yesterday ...

hey mate i did try that but my phone was still locked for some reason. I got bit scared when i got the pink screen for beta 5 but now i know its normal. When i successfully jailbroke 3.0 the previous message came up in itunes about the phone being locked which you can see on page 2. Thanks anyway
i am using an Optus sim card from Au and i have also tried Telstra, i rang up Apple and they said the phone was unlocked to Optus so i have no idea what is going on. I hope when the 3.0 offical update this problem could go awayLast edited by luksoccer; 06-13-2009 at 08:45 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
