help guys im new to this so i really need some help, i was trying to update my iphone to 2.2.1 but its tell me to put back to orignal chip that was in it and then its tell me to sing up with at&t (cingular) but i dont want to sign it up wit that so wat can i do ?

2.2.1 isnt unlockable unless you use a sim-adaptor, so if your not using ATT then you will now need to buy a sim-adaptor before you'll be able to use the phone again.

Thats on a 3g.

If you have a first-gen iphone then you will need to unlock it with pwnage or quickpwn.

and how do u know if the fone is 3g or first gen

If he has a 3G, he can downgrade the baseband and then J/B & unlock.

no i dont so how do you find out wat version it is?

i want it to use on a network in jamaica or anyone to that matter i just really need to unlocking

Well the 3g has a plastic back cover, while the 2g has a metal back cover.

Yeah 3g is either black or white.

first-gen is silver.

when i run quickpwn its saying application falied to initilaizw properly

What OS? Check your netframework and see if it is 3.0 or higher.

to tell the truth i really dont know about the computer that much so can u plz tell me how do you check the os?

You need to d/l netframework 3.0 or higher and install it.
