ugg I wish icy actually used apt properly....
Ok, so I've updated /etc/apt/sources.list with:
and that let me install the stuff that icy had screwed up (tar and findutils where messed up... ) and updated openssh and openssl (neither would show up in icy no matter how many times I forced a refresh). Rebooting now to try it.Code:deb http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo main
WOO! That did it. Thanks!Last edited by britrock; 04-17-2009 at 06:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

cheers fcpoage for your post, intelliscreen probably was the problem, unfortunately I'll never know as my flirtation with 3.0 is OVER!! after the screen flicking problem the phone eventually died a tragic death and wouldn't boot up at all, i restored it to 3.0 again but then it wouldn't jailbreak, I kid you not!! I used the quickpwn 3 times and it apparently successfully jb'd but not only was icy not there but iphone browser could not look into the root folder and kept coming up with messages saying the device wasn't jb'd. So even if icy had been put on i couldn't delete the springboard plist!! so I thought enough is enough and now I back on 2.2.1!!
hopefully someone will make a version of geohot's bb downgrade for 4.24.02 to 2.28.00 as I have bl5.8 so i hear it can be done, maybe someone here knows where to find such a patch???
anyway good luck to you guys on 3.0!! ill upgrade again when cydia, winterboard, and backgrounder are working on it
seeya!!

PLEASE SOMEBODY WITH MORE KNOLEGED!!!! i google, look every where!!! but nothing! others are old or using customize and winterboard... not even iUtilities change it!

I have the same issue with Funbox not being able to view the root partition. This might have already been discussed, but should it work? Is SSH the only way to edit files?
By the way thanks Stealth and everyone else for all the great information and instructions! We ain't found s-h-i-t!

USB file browsing is not working for beta 3. For some reason a certain library was not patched to allow it. I am in contact with someone who is creating a patch to make it work.
BTW In case some of you are having problems getting "certain" apps to sync, I have a patch available for you!

Just can't live without Cydia, WinterBoard, SB Settings.
I'll just wait for saurik to get it all working on 3.0

Hey dude I think I can't live without the paid ibluetooth! But you know what. The Bluetooth AD2P and the video recorder 3.1 working and the copy paste that is a hell of a lot better than clippy and also the great Battery percentage, hell even the landscape program, even sms. I am staying. I love this stuff. I am a beta for life. Believe me. It's worth the wait for Saurik to update. Well I am loving every part of this beta. Truely. I didn't even have a bluetooth headset until they said it worked. I got a $35 dollar on no name brand and it works 100% So I would say stick it out with us you can!
