    can a 3g iphone 2.2.1 be restored to 2.2 with a 2.2 restore firmware?

    No, because the baseband will still be 2.30 and then you wouldn't be able to make calls with a legit AT&T sim because of a baseband mismatch. You're going to have to wait for the new unlock by the Dev-Team

    The Dev team will not, I believe, release an unlock for BB 2.30.03 but will wait until they can unlock FW 3.0 with whatever BB that comes with.
