    Default iTunes times out when trying to upgrade to 2.2

    Been trying to upgrade to ver. 2.2 on iTunes. Then I want to jailbrake my 3G.

    When I click on the "Update" button, it goes to "Connecting to software update server" then after a couple minutes shows " ...network connection timed out".




    I have no firewall turned on and antivirus disabled.

    Any suggestions?

    Can I just jailbrake directly to 2.2?


    Currently on 2.1 FW using Win XP

    You can download the 2.2 firmware file from somewhere else and then hit shift+restore and pick that one.
