iPhone not recognized by computers
|
I recently jail broke and unlocked 2.2 on my iphone. Its not 3g and I'm unsure if it is a 1g or 2g. I was having problems with Cydia and I read that running quickpwn solved these. I was running quick pwn (on mac) and I reached the point where I needed to put it in to recovery mode.
While I was putting it into recovery mode it got disconnected. The actual cable didn't get pulled out. The cable just kind of got bumped a little and I got an error message saying the phone couldn't be detected and I heard the little beep that it makes when it gets disconnected.
I tested it on two of my PCs and this is where it starts to get weird. My one PC didn't detect it. I tried it on another PC of mine and it didn't detect it and then when I was getting ready to disconnect the phone it briefly synced to the pc but then dropped off again. I went to Best Buy and tested it on one of their machines with one of their cables and I got nothing again.
If I plug the phone into a wall charger it will charge. I plugged the phone into a speaker dock of mine and I get music and I can also control music from the dock.
I've looked all around and I can't seem to find anything similar to my issues out there. The guy at Best Buy was telling me he thinks that the connector on the phone is going bad and I tend to think this too. I still wonder if there is anything I can do to try and get the phone running with my notebook again. Any info on where I need to look or go for help would be greatly appreciated.
