Hey guys. I have an Apple iPhone 3G (Canada, Fido Locked). It has firmware 2.2 on it. I want to Jailbreak it and software unlock it (I'm assuming I use yellowsn0w to unlock). I do not have a Mac so I cannot use Pwnage Tool. I know I can use QuickPWN to Jailbreak but I heard that if I do that I won't be able to software unlock it. My main PC has Vista Ultimate X64 on it but I have access to other computers that have XP 32 bit on them. Which tool can I use for this? I have searched the net and have not found a definitive answer. All help is greatly appreciated.

Wanted to know if you were able to jailbreak your iphone. I, too, have an iphone 3G Firmware 2.28 with Fido in Canada and am using Windows Vista and followed the links that were replied to your message by Zywane. Both times I tried, the iphone just hung and I had to restore through itunes. I want to download a 3rd party application is the only reason I want to do this.

what you have to do is:

1. Realize that the 2.28 that you are on about s actually the Baseband Firmware and is written 02.28.00
2. Restore through iTunes
3. DON'T ACTIVATE IT
4. It should be on the "Slide for Emergency" screen
5. Download Quickpwn (MAC) (WIN)
6. Do the on-screen instructions

I just done jailbreak and got it succesfully im so happy so much but I have problem now too.. hohoho I got no signal from my network, I wont be able to receive calls and txts messages then! anyone can tell or help me with what im going to do with my problem..?please...thank you..you can email me at sweetyanddarling@yahoo.com thanks alot
