Stuck in the recovery mode !! Please Help !!!

I have an iPhone 3g, and I was trying to jailbreak it. Apparently, I messed it up more, now the iPhone is in the recovery mode the whole time. It shows the logo of the iTunes and the USB. I can't use the pwange tool cause the iphone won't operate under the DFU mode anymore. the only display on the iphone is the itunes logo and the USB.

I tried restoring it to a CUSTOM 2.1 version made by PwangeTool. but its still not working, it gives me the (2001) error. I don't know whats wrong with it, its not working. I used to use it with T-Mobile sim card operating with the Turbo Sim. But now, I can't even get to the menu. Anybody, can you help me with this?

In order for me to use the second link, I have to do the first link first.
I tried doing the DFU mode as stated in the first link, however it didn't work. iTunes gave me an error message of (your iPhone is not properly recognized by iTunes ... etc error 2001). Then it didn't work, and I'm still stuck in the USB and iTunes logo situation.

If iTunes gave you that error message, u did something wrong..follow the steps for DFU mode, make sure that your computer recognizes your phone BEFORE you start the DFU mode steps....I had the same problm it should work now.

It all worked out for me now !!
the problem that I was using Mac 10.5.6 edition, which apparently blocked my iPhone 3g from being connected properly to iTunes. However, I used a Mac 10.5.5 edition, and it all worked fine. The DFU mode entered perfectly, and it all went smooth.
