Need some basic tutorial

It has been a year since I updated my Iphone.
Last December I jailbroke my phone to 1.1.4
Could anyone tell me what are neccessary step
for me to upgrate to 2.0 or 2.1 and have another
jailbreak. I can do research on particular procedure
but just need to get some upfront warning or suggestion.
