OS 2.2 getting into DFU mode?

I heard Apple won't let OS 2.X users get into DFU mode? Anyhow if I am wrong is their an applescript/workflow or something that will do the trick? I tried ziphone did not work.

Pwnage and quickpwn give you very nice visual instructions on DFU mode. Power off phone... hold power+home for 10 seconds.. let go of power while continuing to hold home for 10 seconds and BAM! DFU mode.
