upgrade iphone 3G jailbroken 2.1 to jailbroken 2.2 without losing apps

I have been reading but there is such confusion and such poor organization in forums to begin with. I need to know, is there a way to upgrade from a jailbroken 2.1 to jailbroken 2.2 on a windows PC without losing any apps? What needs to be done? quickpwn will not let me jailbreak what is not installed. What to do?

Lets avoid me to's and flaming if possible. Lets make it nice and organized so no one has to ask this again. If your going to say it's not possible, just *** on replying until someone comes with an idea.

Hi All,

anyone know if this is possible yet? I have a factory unlocked and its one 2.1 (jailbroken). Rather not mess with anything since the phone has been working great since it was jailbroken...

1) The search button will provide the organization for which you lust.
2) AptBackup available via Cydia may help you, assuming you are talking about jailbroken applications. However it is known to have some problems, so use it at your own risk.

At the risk of upsetting you... it just can't be done (in the strict sense). I say this in order to answer your question. If it worked this way, Apple wouldn't make you reinstall all your apps/music after every update.
