i recently got a g2 iphone for free from my cousin. i dont have a cingular sim card. i was wondering if it was possible to upgrade to 2.2 firmware without a cingular sim card, i have a t mobile sim card and i wanted to activate the card with t mobile. iv been attempting to upgrade for a few days now with little progress. Any help would be appreciated

ok that works fine but i still have no way to upgrade my 1.1.4 to 2.0 or greater without a at&t sim card

you don't need an AT&T sim.

itunes wont let me update from 1.1.4 to 2.2 at all. theres no notifications that pop up. i have the 2.2 firmware from the tut you sent me i just dont know how to activate it

shift click restore.....find the 2.2 file you d/l and install

when i plug it in it just says to plug in the sim card that comes with it. it dosent show anything else

ok everythings working fine now... ACCEPT i cant add music or movies to the ipod haha. the phone works great though.
