Ok, 2.2 pre 3g iphone. Jailbroken. Backed up apps and what via SSH. Has anyone ever successfully transferred apps and settings from one itunes account to another this way? I used IBaReS.

Situation is that the previous owner of this Iphone upgraded to a 3g but its still setup for his itunes account. Current owner has been using it this way but doesn't want to lose their app(all free stuff) settings or music(mostly non DRM) and pics... music and pics is no big deal, can back that up for them, but I don't want to totally reconfigure and download everything else. Current owner can't update or download anything on the itunes app store as a result.

the app purchases are associated with the itunes account. transfering them to a different email address could be considered stealing the apps. you can get the music off with mediamonkey (hope this works for 2.2) and then just put it into itunes again and sync it up. but you already know how to do all of that. even if you backed up the apps somehow and put them back on there they would fail to work right unless they were modified and thats getting into illegal stuff. just redownload them. i know how to do what you want but feel like its too much on the edge of stealing that i personally dont want to provide more info. someone else may help you out though.

isn't the app download to your phone is inprinted with your itune account infomation on it??
even u force it into the phone it wouldn't work right?
