Default Read about mobile installation file!!!

This is NOT allowed on this forum!!! Do not post it here. I have deleted countless threads already. Infractions are giving with each thread we have to delete. You have been warned.

And If anybody's wondering what this is, its a way of cracking AppStore apps for free use, which is considered pirating software and is not allowed, read the rules and regulations if your still unclear.

I think cydia should put a block on the sources that support the files needed to do this. It would show what the Jailbreak community is all about and draw a line between us and them.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but people would just fork Cydia in order to use it still or just use Icy. I wouldn't be against picking up and blocking a package that contains the MobileInstallation library, though. It'd just be too easy to obfuscate (e.g., extracting to /tmp/ and then having a postinst script move it).

There is not a good way to keep the iPhone free but lock up certain areas. People will always find a work around

No, I use that software and have purchased a great deal of apps because I was able to try it out first, and have deleted even more apps because they feel like they were made by a 12 year old, or a chimp.

Ya, some people don't buy the apps, but I do, as do the other people I helped get the software. Face it, there are a **** TON of **** apps on the AppStore. Many of them don't even have screenshots of the app in action. Many apps don't have demos either.

I am not a rich man, especially since not only do I own an iPhone, but so does my wife. Thats a lot do $$$ for two phones, but being able to preview an app and see if its something I would use or not is a big thing to me.

I agree, this should be stopped somehow, maybe saurik could not allow any of his packages to remain installed, to uninstall themselves if it detects pirating software installed, and jailbreaking isn't worth it without all of saurik's stuff. Anyway, is this mobile installation thing the same thing as installd patch? I use that, and I didn't know It was for pirating. I use it to make build & go work in Xcode, to put my own applications on my iPod without using ldid and stuff.

Maybe all of saurik's packages could have a requirement pirating software not being installed.. somehow figuring that out. I really agree about drawing the line between them and us, and it would really make them look bad if they start hacking saurik's hard work.

Pretty soon this whole Mobile Installation business is going to be a thing of the past. What im seeing more and more these days is Free apps with InApp purchasing in order to get ANYTHING done. You can crack the App but getting the content to add to the App is getting considerably harder. A solution to all this would be to offer TRIAL versions of applications. Then all these spam .99 "hot girls" apps would go out of business. I can understand someone wanting to test run an app that costs $30 before making a no-refund screwed glued and tattooed decision.

I agree about all those "hot girls" apps, all they are are collections of (probably unlicensed) pictures. And I honestly don't understand why anyone buys them. If they really want that, they can just look at porn on safari. Its disgraceful in their reviews how they drool "more pics more pics! topless topless!". And any application that could go out of business if it had a trial version shouldn't be on the app store, all applications should be useful, not just a one time thing it lets you do or something.

You put a block on them then people will start doing it through ssh, and it would limit our freedom, I would stick to rockapp, permanently if they did that

So why does it void the iPhone's warranty?

Really? Same way modding anything will void a manufacture's warranty. By lifting my new truck I voided some parts of my truck's warranty but it wasn't illegal. Manufacture's make products, not laws

So you mean that by replacing an official file on the iPhone with a "modded" one isn't the same as replacing a part in your truck?

A voided warranty and being illegal are two completely different things.

see in Canada it has become a grey area since July 1st they brought out a law that says you can't break a digital lock but you can unlock your phone for use with other carriers but you can't unlock your phone with out jailbreaking it first so who knows how thats going to work
