at least you listened. thats the important part. the dev team will handle the jailbreak and ALL they are asking for is our patience. is that so much to ask?

I didn't download 2.2 but did download 8.0.2.
Now I can't update apps. Hopes its an issue on their end.
But cmon the warnings for early adoption of 2.2 have been abundant

2G guys can easily downgrade to 2.1 using iTunes 8.0..
3G guys are stuck and stupid because there was a Baseband update. Good luck trying to Unlock in the future..

come on ppl, do not update itune or phone yet, until there's fix for it. how many firmware we be thu this??? yeah google street is going to be pretty cool, looking forward to that one, but most of all i wanting for is soft unlock for 3g, ready to take out turbo sim!! couse too much problem with edge. if u update it, i think, not sure, is make sure u are on older itune 8, not the new one, uninstall it, uninstall apple mobile.... erase the itune folder. after that reinstall the older itune 8. then force phone into dfu mode, then shift restore phone 2.1. i think it should work, for 3g or 2g, but the baseband part for 3g its going to be a problem.

you get the same result with out using his metherd.just use itunes and restore to 2.1 it says error but dont worry just reset the phone use quick pwn and your 3g will come back BUT dont use cydia your 3g will crash i know its not perfect but you can use your phone until quick pwn is updated

except that just downgrading the firmware will still let the 2.2 baseband be installed, and that if you use hardware unlock method, isnt gonna make your phone work.
But there has been no confirmation on that link I posted, so my guess is that its fake.

Try this~ How to Upgrade Pwned iPhone with 2.1 Custom Firmware IPSW (Windows) | Code Retard. If it doesn't work then just go back to 2.2 I guess, but I know this custom IPSW fakes the baseband. Not sure if it will fake the new one though. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! & STOP JUMPING THE GUN W/ UPGRADES IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you think your helping, but clogging up all the posts w/ things you have no idea about is not cool... So try not to post anything that is complete bullsh*t. Thanks.Last edited by infamous12550; 11-22-2008 at 09:17 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

actually this information was posted before anyone even knew about the baseband update SOOOO its not complete crap. also watch your mouth before you get nailed by mods/admins as well as an infraction for disrespecting other members here. i knew about the baseband update as soon as the dev team posted it and i corrected my posts after that. and also my posts are not complete bull for the 2g users the only one that wouldnt work perse would be the 3g one because of the baseband update. so maybe YOU need to know what your talking about before YOU post disrespectful things about other users.

Does any1 get the positive resulf from working out with this method?

is it a 2g or 3g, if it is a 2g, just restore the phone with itune then quickpwn it, if it 3g, need to find out why it is not activated, most likely he restore it, need to find out from him what he restore firmware, 2.1 or 2.2, there be a problem with 2.2, since it'll update the baseband. iphone dev warn not to do it, it'll mess up software unlock in the future. now i really don't know why, at some point we would have to go 2.2, but who knows.
