No system sounds after upgrading to 2.1

ok....everything went fine when i upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 jailbrake and unlock. everything works great except i have no system sounds at all. there are no sounds in any apps or when texting or dialing. no sounds at all. when someone calls all i get is the phone ibrating as well. when i goto settings>sounds>ringtone and i select a ringtone it plays the sound and also when i select a text sound it works too but it does not make a sound when i receive a call or text..it just vibrates. i flashed it 4 times successfully and still same issue. what could it be? thanks

did u check if the vibrate button on the side is on?
