mac book pro and 3g??

I just bought a new mac book pro and tried to jail break a 3g iphone running 2.1 firmware and can not get the phone to enter dfu mode any ideas?

DFU mode can be tricky at times to enter (making the need for multiple attempts if necessary) yet it should always work. If the phone is in a case try taking it out as the buttons are easier to push outside the case.

i couldn't get my iphone into dfu mode either on my new macbook. worked fine in windows.

i kept getting error 2001 in itunes

also the DFU instructions for windows where different in that they have to hold the home button for 5 seconds, then both then home again. this forced the black screen dfu which turns white.

i couldn't get that to work on my macbook either. wtf....
