    Default 3g Iphone Unlocking question

hey guys i just bought my self a 3g iphone from one of my coworkers who has atnt i got a 2g i phone unlocked with tmobile....

i herd that suposly apple sends out data to unblocked 3gs when you use cydia or installer..... i wont have a warranty so i might sound kind of dumb but im not really upto date with iphone information..

is it safe to unlock it n use it like my 2g with no problem or is there a posibility of it not working at all at a moment

I don't know what you mean by this.

Yes, it is safe to unlock your 2G iPhone. There are no guarantees of course, but it's been extensively tested so you can be safe in the knowledge that if something does go wrong, however unlikely that maybe, there is usually a solution right here on the forums.

i meant that i herd people sayin that having an unblocked 3g is not safe because apple detects them and briks them...... i want to unblock my 3g n get rid of my 2g but im making sure first is worth it or not

Yes, you can unlock your phone via the simhack method and not have it bricked. This method however is notoriously unreliable, often phones stop picking up signals after a couple of weeks.
