Upgrade to 2.1 from 2.0.2...Throught Itunes...No unlock needed
Ok so i am on ver. 8.00 for Itunes..
I downloaded the 2.1 firmware from itunes directly..Then let Itunes do it all on it's own...In other words...I did not use any third party appz to upload the or mod the firmware...
Took all of 10 mins to do...Mind you this was jailbroke first...So i figured that it would be locked with my T-Mobile Sim installed...Not able to make calls...
But low and behold....The phone restarted...AND IT WORKED!! Yes i lost cydia, and installer, but it was still working...
I'm using QuickPhone to add Cydia, and Installer...And i'm having more of a problem with that then with ITunes.
Go figure....After i QuickPwned it, its now in this restart over and over faze...
I'll figure it out why its doing that...But i figured i'de let you know what happened.
Well I now see that Installer is a bunch of crap. If i use it or make any changes it will try to re-start the phone, and make it lock up at the loading screen...And before that the loading icon that spins stops...Or my case fadig apple.
So installer has something up with it right now...As well i am still rubbing my head in knowing that Itunes did not re-lock my phone...Go figure!Last edited by 97vrsix; 10-11-2008 at 06:25 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

As far as pictures not savng, i think there is a forum for that...Being that you are new i will give you a couple tips.
1. Make sure you post your information about your phone while asking the question....Example: I have a Gen 1, or 2G Iphone, running X.X.X firmware, unlocked with XXXXXXXXX, and im having problems using the camera program that came with the phone.
2. The search tool is at the top of every page, and it does work! simply write pictures not saving, see what you come up with, try the different options in the search if your question is not coming right up.
3. Make sure ou post in the correct forum...Look at what you are doing...Ican see that you are able to type, and read, so i'm sure you can read that this topic was/is about upgrading firmware through Itunes, and it still being unlocked...Nothing to do with your question. How ever I dont mind that you ask, but others may get pissed! Jumping on to someones topic and changing the subject can be taken as you being rude, or not being able to follow simple instructions.
4. There is a whole list of guied lines that you mut read in order to post to this forum...It looks lie you did not read them...Go ahead and do that now.
5. http://modmyi.com/searchresults.php?...sa=Search#1073 This took al of two seconds to do, and i see people with the same problem, but not knowing what you have, i can no longer help...Againanother reason why you should list all your information.
6. Download BossPerfs, and try fixing the DIR permission's, This helps out some, but then again you may need to RE-Hack your phone.
7. Good luck Mr. newGuyLast edited by 97vrsix; 10-12-2008 at 01:10 PM. Reason: Adding information
