Jailbreak Q&A (help)

Hey guys its my first post and im a proud owner of the iphone 3g with contract since day 1, but i think the time has come to jailbreak but i have some doubts:

1. If I install jailbreak i know i will lose the guarante if apple finds out but my question is does apple find out you have it via itunes ? can they find out like that? and what about through updates?

2. Second question is if i jailbreak will i unlock the phone ? because i really DO NOT want to unlock it because if i do ill lose the guarante anyways, so is there any way to jailbreak without unlocking so if anything ever goes wrong i can restore the iphone and then send it to repair without evidence ?

3. Does jailbreak interfere with the contract one has with 3g connection or phone/sms ? money wise or in any technical way

4. FINAL question sry for all this, ive seen many pages on jailbreak but: what the heck is pwn ownage or the other "methods" or installers, are they a way to jailbreak or is jailbreak is a program by its self, and cydia ? whats the relationship (im using windows xp)

Apple/AT&T cant find out you "jailbreaked" the phone unless you show/tell them.

The 3g is NOT unlockable via software yet....so there. And your AT&T so you dont need it.

Pwnage/Winpwn/quickpwn are all basically the same program. Pwnage is for MacOS...Winpwn and quickpwn are WinPC. Only difference is that "quickpwn" will jailbreak the phone WITHOUT re-loading another image of the firmware. So, its just quicker/easier.

And lastly..."jailbreaking" is just a method of allowing you read/write access to the file system. Thats it. After which you can install stuff, change things around etc.

And yeah, it can give you warranty headaches with Apple, however if its a "hardware" issue it shouldnt matter and otherwise, you can always go back to OTB (stock) so they wont know if you need to take it in.

thanks alot, basically thats what i wanted to know: if i can jailbreak iphone 3g in windows xp without unlocking the phone! Sweet as soon as i can ill jailbreaks, thank you!
