Question Does 1st gen AT&T iPhone need to be unlocked for fido?

I have a 1st gen (originally) AT&T iPhone. It's jailbroken, unlocked etc. If I were to do a 2.1 resotre in iTunes (not custom) will it work on Fido (A now supported iPhone carrier)

I'd rather ask if someone has tried it, instead of blowing an evening on something someone else already knows the answer to.

It would have to be unlocked. The phone is locked to AT&T....regardless of that fact that other carriers now offer the same phone.

Is there a way to put a "locked to Fido" firmware on it? Or is that a baseband that I can't put on there?

Jailbreak is the option of installing 3rd party software on your iphone such as Cycorder (video recording), NES emulator etc. It gives you options to put themes on your background, change the icons and so on so forth.
