Jailbreak works but when you restore backup it bricks

I tried searching the forums for this problem and I might have missed the thread but I am having a problem after jailbreaking a 3g 8GB iphone. I will jailbreak it with pwnage, it will load and install the custom firmware fine. When I go to restore from a backup with Itunes it will load the back up and it will freeze at the boot screen. The iphone load wheel with spin and eventually freeze and the phone will start vibrating in intervals. After this happens the phone will not work anymore. I usually have to reload the firmware and start with a new iphone from Itunes. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

Yup..that is the case.
Repwn and set up as new phone.

Restoring from back-up is putting in a different com.springboard.plist which is causing your SWOD. I agree... restore again and set up as new.... then resync your contacts and pictures.. etc.
