did u know that what posted on the first page, the CFW link or the CUSTOMIZE FIRMWARE is created by this method? YES ITS TRUE. CUSTOMIZE FIRMWARE that we posted in the 1st page was created thru QUICKPWN... hope its clear to u now. we just made it simple. We just posted firmware created by quickpwn so it will be easy for everyone to upgrade. Less method & less effort to be on 2.1FW .

Does 2.1 naturally run slower than other fws? I ask because I did this upgrade about a month ago and now I am having problems. The os is running slow as hell and the battery dies in about 6 hours from a full charge. Its as if some operation is constantly running because the phone is like a fire in my pocket. Any ideas? Or should I just redownload and redo the whole process?

Hello, I just bought a 2G iphone from a friend. It already had firmware 2.1 and he did a master reset before selling it to me. The phone now says, please connect to itunes. I would like to unlock and jailbreak in one step. Will this process work form me?

I am leary of using quickpwn because when it comes to MAC and the iPhone I am a caveman. I really need to figure this out, I have to lug around my charging cable everywhere I go that has power, lol. Everyone in class is staring at me, haha. Plus I also need to figure out how to change the itunes account on my phone because I changed the username "email" to my new updated email and on the phone, it wont let me upgrade or buy anything because of it, bummer....

bro,
yes it is as simple as option+restore on a mac. But if you are the adventurous type you can creat your own CFW 2.1 using pwnage 2.1 for mac and have your own custom firmware.

sorry for the late reply, it should be easy enough for you just dl the cfw 2.1 and do a restore using that and you are done.

You dnt need to be a mac user to do this, quicpwn is available for win users too and to make it easier just download the cfw posted here and restore with that, no need to quicpwn it will be activated-jailbroken-unlocked after the reboot.

yes it will, for mac and you want to create your own cfw, use pwnage. If you want the CFW form here just dl it and do a option+restore. and lastly update to official fw 2.1 and use quickpwn for mac to jailbreak.

Do you mean by inserting your Custom Firmware, the 3G Iphone can be UNLOCKED?
(i.e. without the needs of other additional card such as TurboSim, Anysim, etc.)
If it does, you are superb. Further, will I get the 3G function as well (Besides the WiFi)?
Well, I have the 3G Iphone with me, but it will be used in Indonesia Operator.
