I assume this method won't work if your iPhone 3G is v2.1 ?

Cause I just tried it and I saw the CMD pops up, hasing the file from you, then CMD just close.

It will work for 3G. Download the CFW 2.1 for 3G and restore with that after the reboot you will have a Jailbroken 3G.

or try any of the mentioned method in the 1st page:

1. Run quickpwn and jailbreak your official 2.1 fw
2. Run pwnage and create you own cfw 2.1 for 3G minus the activation.
3. Download the cfw for 3G and restore with that

Anything is possible

I'm on 1.1.4 jailbroken only w/ ziphone on at&t.

Since this cfw will unlock my phone, will visual voicemail still work?

I'm hoping all previous features will work, except now with the ability to switch to a different sim if I need to.

Btw, could someone kindly link me to some info on how to install the "mobileinstallation patch"

I am on a mac and am getting a bit confused here. Can I up date to 2.1 using 0SX and I tunes 8.0.1?

Since I up-dated to 2.0.2 the 4,5,6 numbers on the phone keypad no longer work. If anyone else has had this problem please let me know if there is a fix.

mac user- dl pwnage 2.1 and ofw 2.1, create your own cfw and restore with that 100% error free upgrade.

I prefer just use QuickPwn to JaikBreak to 2.0.1 cause it's error-code-free
then get into Resotre mode (not DFU) and use the Custom CFW 2.1 from theone77...:P

Is that normal? Is there already 400MB of space taken by other apps?

we dont know now whats going on to ur iphone. as i told you for 15 iphones i've done this upgrade, i never experienced what u experience. Sorry no more help i can offer, only as i said go back to same procedure 1. but if nothing happen, sorry! hope someone can help u.
