Can't dial out after jailbreak.

This has happend to me a few times, when i click on the phone button it comes up, the CALL text is missing and after 2-5 seconds it goes back to the home screen. I have read quite a bit on this and was wondering if any experts can shed some light. Here is what i have found

Updating 2.0 to 2.1 with custom boot image did not work. I redid the image and reapplied and it started working

Updated from 2.1 to 2.2 with custom boot image, worked good for a bit until i installed some custom theme apps that did not work.

Was i have been doing is flashing with original image, recreating hacked image then reapplying.

My question

I have heard "just keep trying and it will work"

Do i need to stay aware from certain application to prevent this from happening? what have you guys done to resovle this issue?

Same thing is happening to me... Did you install a custom keypad theme?

Have you treid what others are suggesting?

Uninstall Kate source and any themes you have done, restart your phone.

I simply reflashed mine, i have not narrowed it down but instead of installing a bunch of stuff at onces i an doing them in chunks so i can narrow it down.

Yea, I had the same problem. Uninstalled the Kate thing and now I can dial out again

Agreed. Had same problem and I just uninstalled Kate and my phone is good to go.

I could not dial out, nor could I END any call.

When I was in a call, I would go to look at my screen and it would be at the home screen. You press the button to go back to call and it just stays at the home screen.

Yea. This forum is darn pretty awesome. I had the same problem myself. Thanks for all the great input, btw. I uninstalled Kate and now I can dial out just fine.

I love everyone in this forum just as much as I love my iphone. Well, After I uninstalled kate. Now I love my iphone to the fullest extent. ive been having problems with this since Ive gotten my iphone. Thank you all, for helping me with everything on modding my iphone.

I read the post's and followed some idea's, but still cant dial out. when I go to my phone icon and select it, then try to dial a number, or check my recent calls ect. I just get booted back to the home screen. I have tried uninstalling Kate and rebooting, even uninstalled a dialer theme that I installed last, but still have no progress. Can someone out there please help me, need a fix???????

Same thing happened to me. I uninstalled Mobile Substrate and it started working again. It got reinstalled after I put winterboard back on but everything still seems to be working

mines still not working and i have never installed kate either
