Hey guys, I have been trying to set my phone up to tether, and haven't been able to do it. I have hit a few speed bumps along the way, though nothing serious and still don't have it working =).
So, I figure I would go to general settings and erase all data and try to restore and start fresh on the tethering thing.
It too me two times to get my contacts off the phone, and now when I try to re-sync, though I only have maybe 35 songs there isnt enough space. Its saying that 166mn is taken up by "other" and I only have 99mb left to put stuff.
Im a bit nervous so could someone please help me?
BTW my phone is showing that it has a 7.3 gb capacity and 7.3 gb free.

You didn't put the Services.plist back on. Open iPhoneinterface. If it is still jailbroken, you should be able to just type:
If that doesn't allow you to do that, you're gonna have to restore.

Thanks a lot. I have searched forums to heck trying to find the answer, and wasn't getting it over at everythingiphone.com
Beings that Im new, I am not sure that it was every jailbroken, I assumed it was. Where would I put that command? I hate to ask newbie questions, but kind of worried about destroying my phone.
I would really appreciate it!

And yes, that would have had to be jailbroken to do that...

Now it says "iTunes couldn't restore because there was a time otu while trying to connect to the phone" or something along these lines. The phone then reboots and syncs.
So would everything be back to normal except somethings I lost int he inability to restore?
Is there anyway to fix the restore problems?

The restore issue is just because it takes iTunes a while to download the file. Try restoring again now that the download of the updated software has happened, it should restore fine.

Thanks a lot bro, you have been a lot of help and I appreciate it.
I never did do the restore after it failed a few times (even after it did the d/l) because I now sync it with my mac laptop. Of course if I resync with my pc everything becomes different again, and makes a big mess.
No Im trying to skin this thing, and want to get the tethering working heh, but have no idea what has been done to the phone, I assume nothing since I did a restore.
How can I tell if its been jailbreaked or not?
Thanks again, I am pestering the other thread for advice now heh.
