iTunes error 1604. I think it's bricked. $50 if fixed.
I've tried EVERYTHING.
- Downgrading to 7.5
- DFU mode on 7.7
- Making 5 different PWNAGETOOL custom restore files.
On Windows iTunes 7.5, I can downgrade to 7.5, but that's about it. When I get 1.1.4, it's in recovery mode. I tried kicking it into normal mode with ziphone, but then I get a slide for emergency, no carrier, no wifi, no bluetooth and an iTunes logo in the middle.
PLEASE help me. I will give ANYONE who can help me $50 via Paypal. I've spent over 5 hours trying to fix this. It's just killing me.

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you want to jailbreak 1.1.4 or would you like to jailbreak 2.0? What firmware was last on the phone? Are you on Mac or PC?

My firmware was working fine in 1.1.4, then my idiotic brother updated it. Then, I downgraded back to 1.1.4 and no carrier would show. So, I tried to use pwnage tool on mac to go to 2.0 unlocked. Then the errors kept coming up. Now, I've managed to get no errors when restoring to 1.1.4 on Windows iTunes 7.5, but I just see the slide for emergency with an iTunes logo in the middle, no carrier, no bluetooth or wifi, and it gives me a message saying:
Repair needed. iPhone cannot make or receive calls. Apple - Support.
Please suggest anyhing possible.

You need to update iTunes to 7.7 Do you have a copy of the original iPhone 2.0 FW? If not download it here http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....7_Restore.ipsw If so then once you update itunes then you want to option+click update and choose the original 2.0 firmware. Once your phone updates and is working fine on 2.0 You can then proceed to jailbreak it with Pwnage tool.

You need to provide a little more info then "nothing works" if you want people to help. Is it giving you an error when you update to 2.0? What is the error #? Are you making sure that you are clicking UPDATE not RESTORE? Have you tried putting it into DFU and option+clicking restore and picking the 2.0 firmware? Are you positive you are in DFU. Your screen should be totally black.

Are you certain you followed this guide in every step, no short cuts, you must restore twice when downdraging from 2.0
Also are you certain you are entering DFU mode, blank screen with no logo or cable showing, many people get this step wrong. Try entering it when plugged into iTunes and it will beep and show a message saying "iphone detected in DFU mode" if you enter this mode correctly
Also if you are on a MAC make certain you have deleted all traces of itunes 7.7 before you reinstall 7.5 at the start of this process.Eric's iPhone 4 4.01 offically unlocked

When I put it in DFU mode on my Mac, it gets stuck on preparing iPhone for restore. I get the 1604 error. On a PC though, it goes through though and goes back to recovery mode. Once, I got it locked in 1.1.4 with the itunes logo, no wifi, bluetooth or signal, and on the emergeny screen. When on Kiphone it told me I need a secular pack on the iPhone and I had to put it in recovery mode again or nothing would happen.

I had this problem and what you need to do is download a fresh 1.1.4 file and start over. I guarantee it will work. I had the same problem with 1604 errors. I spent 8 hours trying to fix my phone. Again download fresh firmware 1.1.4 and start over. Also you will have to downgrade to itunes 7.5 and remove the itunes files from the music folder...GL!!

On my Windows PC, it'll restore in iTunes, no 1604 error message. But, I get error 1011 and my iPhone is in recovery mode. When I use iLiberty to kick it out, Im at the slide for emergency screen with an iTunes logo, the IMEI is unknown, the wifi, bluetooth or carrier can't be seen and it tells me to contact apple support.

What firmware was your iPhone OTB?
I had this same problem in January... getting the 1604 error, 1011 error, and having the damn thing constantly tell me I couldn't make / receive calls and to call Apple support. I wasted almost an entire weekend screwing around with it. I even started a post just like yours offering $$ if someone could help me! Finally what fixed my problem was to install 1.0.0 firmware, then 1.0.1, then 1.0.2, etc. all the way up to 1.1.2 (I think that's what was current at the time) Before starting this process I used ZiPhone to refurbish.
I don't think you can do this if your phone has the 4.6 BL. So the phone would have to be 1.1.1 or less OTB I think... can't remember when the new boot loader arrived. Bottom line: If you can try this, then I would. It fixed my phone in the end. Good luck!If my post was helpful to you, hit the thanks button!
