Hello Dust Busta,

There is a way to put your iPhone into DFU mode without using the sleep/wake button.

Follow the tutorial below:

Quote:
1.) First download the required archive Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!
2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/
3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes
4.) Goto Start - run
5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”
6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen
7.) Now you may proceed to downgrade!
I found this tutorial from:
How To Put The iPhone Into DFU Mode

Please post back to confirm whether or not this worked out for you.

Thanks!

Shan

I'm having the same problem, none of these worked.
Ziphone puts it into recovery mode, even when I click on DFU mode restart.
The DFU file method does absolutely nothing.....

If you are trying to jailbreak, you cannot use software to enter DFU mode. No software calls the actual hardware DFU routines (except perhaps the <= 1.1.4 WTFs)

I highly recommend against jailbreaking for phones with the home or sleep buttons broken. If something goes wrong, you will not be able to enter recovery or DFU mode reliably. It's just a bad idea.
