question: if my coutnry is now supported, can i unhack and upgrade to 2.0?

I'm in canada, i have the first gen iphone unlocked 1.1.4.
Canada now has the iphone 3g, and my cell provider is the carrier that sells the 3g, can i unhack, upgrade to 2.0, without unlocking and jailbreaking, and be able to use my iphone? i hate waiting for the dev team, not that i don't think their doing an awesome thing, i just want to upgrade!
